Offshore 2025 Compendium

Summer 2025 Offshore | Travel At It's Finest

Where do you go when you want to relax?

Is a seaside escape your idea of paradise, or does reading a good book, dockside, do the trick? Or maybe it’s as simple as booking a massage for an hour of quiet.

Traditionally associated with spa resorts and relaxation retreats, wellness tourism has significantly expanded in scope over recent years. Where travellers once sought out destinations offering massages, hot springs, and rejuvenation therapies, as the global understanding of health and wellness has broadened, so too has the definition of wellness tourism.

Evident at hotels around the world, modern wellness tourism includes diverse experiences, be it yoga and meditation retreats, nature immersion, and even digital detox programs. Ditching modern science for age-old healing practices, traditional experiences and approaches also continue to draw interest from curious travellers, which shows a shift in consumer attitudes toward proactive, preventive health, where wellness is a lifestyle choice, and not a bandaid solution. Our summer issue invites you to dive into the world of wellness tourism in some of its many forms. Join Jennifer Lutz as she travels to Sri Lanka to understand more about the Ayurvedic approach to life at the first and only luxurious Santani Wellness Kandy, a retreat equipped with daily guided nature walks, sound baths and morning meditation. Closer to home, in Prince Edward Island, Erica Commisso enjoys a staycation at Mysa Nordic Spa, a sustainable property set on 18 acres with a farm-to-table restaurant and personalized cozy cottages to sound off on its suite of spa offerings. Then, tag along to South Africa with Ann Ruppenstein, where she explores wine and wellness in Cape Town’s sprawling vineyards, while getting a feel for the city’s colourful neighbourhoods, healthy Cape Malay cuisine and dramatic mountain ranges.

However you choose to self-indulge this summer, we hope we provide plenty of inspiration.
